Arrival in Genga, welcome by our staff. Accommodation in Hotel. Lunch. In the afternoon visit to the Frasassi Caves, a spectacular underground world characterized by a succession of salt, tunnels and small crystallized lakes that gave rise to truly unique scenery and extraordinary beauty. The erosion of sulphurous water on the limestone rock has given rise to a huge underground kingdom, rich in stalactites and stalagmites, divided by environments with scary fairy-tale names: “The Great Cave of the wind”, “The Giants”, “The Thirteenth Century Room”, “The Hall of Candles”, “The Hall of Infinity”… Time for the tasting and purchase of food and wine products typical of the area at the square of the ticket office Grotte. Return to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast and departure for Sassoferrato, with a visit to the Museum and the Archaeological Park of the Roman city of “Sentinum” . Stop near the famous battle of 295 B.C. The Roman city preserves the ancient basolate streets, the remains of the baths and a monumental suburban villa, of which some rooms are visible adorned with marble columns and rare stones. In the Museum are exposed different materials, coming from the city and its territory: statues, terracotta, mosaics, bronzes, coins. Free lunch. In the afternoon continue to Pergola, a medieval town famous for the “Golden Bronzes”. In the Museum set up at the convent complex of San Giacomo, is preserved the equestrian group known as “the Bronzes of Cartoceto di Pergola”, consisting of two male figures on horseback and two female figures standing, which gave rise to various hypotheses of reading and interpretation by historians and scholars. Return to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Castelleone di Suasa to visit the “Archaeological Park” of the Roman city of Suasa and the “Antiquarium”. You can see the remains, recently emerged from the excavations conducted by the University of Bologna, of the beautiful “Domus”, urban villa belonged to the senatorial family of “Coiedii”, and the mighty Amphitheater. In the visit you can follow the stages of the evolution of this house that reached its maximum splendor in the second century AD: inside were recovered marble statues, everyday objects, spectacular floor mosaics and wall paintings, finds now preserved in the “Antiquarium” movie located in the Palazzo Della Rovere or Palazzo Compiano. Free lunch. In the afternoon transfer to San Lorenzo in Campo, a hilly village in the Cesano Valley, just 3 km from Castelleone di Suasa, with a visit to the “Archaeological Museum of the Territory of Suasa”, located inside the Palazzo Della Rovere, a 16th century building. In the cellars of this beautiful building, was housed the Museum with the aim of illustrate to tourists the slow evolution that the Valley of the river Cesano has had throughout the various historical eras: the rooms show the history of the settlement of the middle Valle del Cesano from Prehistory to the Early Middle Ages. Walk along the characteristic arcades in the typical medieval old town. Return to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Arcevia with a visit to the old town, the “State Archaeological Museum” and the nearest main sites. The museum, recently reopened to the public, is notable for the presence of important prehistoric materials and evidence of the civilization of the Senoni Gauls, such as the precious objects that made up the grave goods of Montefortino. Free lunch. In the afternoon visit to the mighty Eneolithic moat in the locality of Conelle and to the hut bottoms, encased in the rock, belonging to a village of the Bronze Age on Monte Croce Guardia. Return to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, return to the place of origin.
