AUTUMN WEEKEND IN MARCHE FROM ELCITO TO CANFAITO – COLORS, SCENTS AND FLAVORS OF THE FOLIAGE

Arrive in Matelica, center of picena origin in which have been recently found the necropolis in the municipal territory, then develops as a Roman municipium in the I century d. C., bishop’s seat since the fifth century and subsequently submitted to the Duchy of Spoleto and the Signoria degli Ottoni until 1578. Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to San Severino Marche, center of great, artistic and historical interest, probably arose after the destruction of the ancient Roman city of Septempeda of which remain remains in locality Pieve. Breakfast at the hotel, departure for Fabriano, Unesco Creative City. Visit the old town starting from the Duomo (rebuilt in 1617 and dedicated to San Venanzo) the Pojo, the Gentile Theatre, the Oratory of Charity, Sant’Onofrio and the Crypt of San Romualdo. Typical lunch in restaurant. Then visit to the Paper and Watermark Museum in which are illustrated the historical phases of handmade paper.
